Everyday Genealogy for the Crazy-busy Life - RootsTech 2017

So just finished my last classes at RootsTech today.  I had the opportunity to teach 1 on Wednesday and 2 more today.  It was an incredible experience to have the opportunity share the things I love with so many interested and anxious learners.  If you came to my class, thanks for coming, and I hope that you have tons of success moving forward. I hope that some of you will take the time to share some of those experiences in the comments.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out in the process.
For those who attended and wanted the links here's a copy of my syllabus and the slides:

  1. Olivia,
I tried to find the FamilySearch zoning. It seems to be a project that is no longer supported by FamilySearch. So sad. That sounded so fun.

I tried the Adobe Spark. I used it to make a fun teaser for a product on my website but found the 30 second video limit frustrating for creating family videos.

I have more things you recommended to try, but I thought you'd like to know that I'm trying on some of the things from your class.

    1. The limit is odd, I haven't had that problem. I just made an 8 minute video with no problem.
And for the Zoning, they just moved the page, thanks for the heads up I'll add an update to the post. But here's the url: https://familysearch.org/zoning/
Thanks! Glad to know you're using some of the stuff from class.
Lol. I'm barely making it around to trying new stuff from RootsTech too. So much to learn. Aye aye aye!

  2. Thank you Sister Jewell, our family loved this class at stake Discovery Day. My kids are already fired up and I've already signed up for my free Ancestory.com account through my LDS account and imported my family search tree. There are so many things we SEE that we want to do now. Thank you 10x!

  3. ps, if you can turn off the ability to download the Sylybus PDF. People might mistakenly click on the image and download that without knowing you have a pdf version. You can also make the image clickable to download the PDF in addition to the pdf text link so there is no missing the point.

    thx
